2022 Grant Recipients
Delta Kappa Gamma has expanded its grant opportunity since its initial planning in 1954. The intent was to promote excellence in education for women and encourage them to join DKG. The grant increased over the years, from $100 to a current budget of $4000. Male teachers were included in 2014. Recipients may use the monies for supplemental classroom materials or professional growth; to include conference or workshop registration fees. Teachers may submit
proposals for up to $500. There is a three year rotation for the recruitment grant.
Grants are open to educators in Oceanside, Carlsbad, and San Dieguito school districts.
In 2017, universities were included in the funding program to support student teachers [currently referred to as teacher candidates] in their educational endeavors. Targeted universities include: CSUSM, Pt. Loma Nazarene, NU, SDSU, UCSD, and USD. The scholarship budget has increased from $1000 to $4500, affording 3 teacher candidates to receive a $1500 scholarship. The scholarship for teacher candidates is offered every year.
Beta Delta proudly honors fantastic and innovative teachers at our annual Scholarship Celebration in May.
