Welcome to DKG Beta Delta’s website. This is my second term as chapter president and I am excited about the new biennium. I want to incorporate our current state president’s theme of “unlock our imaginations” into our chapter the next two years. This dynamic and energetic group of sisters, I am sure, will be inspired to further develop the projects we started during the past term and take them to the next level, as well as try some new ideas for our chapter.
Chartered in 1948, Beta Delta has remained a vibrant, active, loving, and welcoming group to all those who have joined the chapter. My wish is to continue along that path to attract new members to our chapter and to celebrate our 75 year anniversary in 2023 with more new members.
I recall what attracted me to the chapter. It is the mix of working and retired teachers, their love for DKG, their pride in the organization, their energy, what it means to them to be part of such a vibrant group and their acceptance of me into their Sisterhood. As an educator, past or present, membership in Delta Kappa Gamma will become a part of your life and offer broadening opportunities, experiences, and lasting relationships.
I encourage you to peruse our website, take note our chapter’s projects and activities, and the recognition given to members in their many endeavors. The state website www.dkgca.org provides more insight to non-members as to what this organization has to offer someone who is thinking about membership. Listen to the members’ testimonials and what the organization means to them. It comes from their hearts and gives them such joy. You will feel it as you listen to them. This feeling not only exists locally and statewide, but internationally as well. Membership in Delta Kappa Gamma holds true to its mission statement: The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women and excellence in education.
